Meet the team is our blog series that takes a behind-the-scenes look at the people of PB Comms. In each blog we hear from a member of the team about their personal stories, their career and professional insights, and advice for those entering the industry.
Marketing and communications appealed to me because of how broad the field is. If you told me in my first year of uni that I’d work in financial services PR, I probably would have asked you what that was. But that’s what I love about it. You can work across pretty much any industry, and you never quite know where it’ll take you.

I found there are a lot of skills needed to be a successful PR professional that can’t be taught in a university lecture hall. University teaches theoretical PR ideas, but important people skills, like developing relationships with clients and journalists, can only be learnt in practice.
I'm still early in my career, but so far I've found that stepping outside my comfort zone is where I learn the fastest. Whenever I've felt unsure about a task or a new opportunity, pushing through it has usually taught me more than staying with what I already know.
Coke Zero. I’m obsessed. I could have one every day, but I don’t think my teeth would thank me.
My pick is TheSquiz Today. It’s a 10-minute daily podcast covering the latest Australian and international news headlines. I normally listen on my way to work, and it makes it easy to stay informed.
I’d recommend starting your night at Shaffa in Surry Hills, which has great Middle Eastern food. Then head across the street to Bar Copains, a cosy wine bar.
